Daisy is our rescue dog. She became a member of our family in July of 2013 after the passing of our beloved Claudia. Claudia was also a rescue dog and she lived to be 19 and we were very blessed to have her.
Daisy is a trip. She was born deaf and has probably been through a lot in her 6 years. We met Daisy while volunteering at Best Friends Animal Society in Mission Hills, CA. We bonded with her almost immediately. She came to us a huge stress ball full of fear. She especially has a fear of other dogs which causes her to be leash reactive. It’s been a lot of work and a lot of it has not been easy. However, it’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done to watch that dog become a dog. I no longer have the time to volunteer at Best Friends because Daisy takes a ton of time and training and I have to devote myself to her now. However, I highly suggest you consider adopting a rescue dog and / or volunteering at your local shelter. It will be one of the most rewarding things you ever do.
